The health and safety of our students, parents, and employees are of the utmost importance to us. We strive to always provide a healthy environment for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our community. This is crucially important during pandemics, such as COVID-19, and Concordia Shanghai has taken the virus, and our response, with the seriousness that our community deserves. If you have any questions or concerns about our campus preparedness, please email health.office@concordiashanghai.org.

Sick student Policies and procedures

Concordia Shanghai will comply with all government requirements regarding sick or potentially sick students, and it is very important for you to understand their policies and what will be required of you in case your child develops a fever or shows other symptoms of illness.

All employees and students who develop a fever during the school day must go to a temporary isolation area for observation and to have their temperature taken again by a school nurse. If the student's fever is confirmed, the child's parents must come to school immediately and take their child to a medical institution. We highly recommend taking your child to a fever clinic, to more quickly rule out COVID-19 as the cause of the fever.

All employees and students with respiratory symptoms (i.e. respiratory symptoms, fever, chills, fatigue, diarrhea, conjunctival congestion, and other physical symptoms and signs) who have been ruled out "COVID-19", should not return to school before all the symptoms disappear and are fully recovered. Non-COVID-19 fever patients will only return to school 48 hours after all symptoms disappear. Patients with vomiting and diarrhea will only return to school 72 hours after all symptoms disappear (last time they vomited or had diarrhea).

If employees and students have pre-existing medical conditions that may cause the appearance of one or more of these symptoms, a medical certificate from a designated government hospital must be provided. Email health.office@concordiashanghai.org for any questions.

It is important for parents to know the government's regulations for "gathering cases," or grouped fever cases. Please see the post below titled "Sick Student and Fever Protocol" for this information.
